Daniel Herrold
Daniel Herrold is a senior vice president in Northmarq's Tulsa office, where he has maintained various roles within the firm over his 20-year tenure at Stan Johnson Company, now Northmarq. He has led teams that have completed over $3 billion in transaction volume through his tenure with the firm across all product types, with a primary emphasis on single tenant retail.
Out of college, he worked in public accounting at Arthur Andersen, where he earned his CPA in his five-year tenure. His interest in commercial real estate was influenced by his excitement in leveraging his financial and analytical background with a strong passion in networking and business development.
Outside of production, Daniel has played an instrumental role in senior leadership within the firm. In 2008, he successfully launched Stan Johnson Company’s first office outside of Tulsa located in Houston, Texas, where he managed the office through its stabilization. In 2010, Daniel was promoted to executive managing director, where he continued the firm’s expansion by launching four additional offices located in Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Phoenix. Daniel migrated back into production in 2013, where he co-founded Stan Johnson Company’s first formal practice group – the Corporate Finance Group – to provide a range of services, including sale leasebacks, build-to-suit structuring and financing, lease advisory and restructuring and surplus property sales, specifically to real estate operators and private equity groups.
Daniel's outstanding service to clients and other professionals in the industry is expansive. His two quarterly releases include the Emerging Tenants Report and the Tenant Expansion Report. These highly sought-after reports are two intensively researched deep dives, solely by Herrold, on the status of current and up-and-coming tenants and their footprint in the market. These two reports have garnered thousands of recipients over its 10-year distribution. More recently, his bi-weekly State of the Market composition is a personal email recounting anecdotal observations, industry news, investment guidance, and where his team fits in the storyline, allowing clients, operators, investors and fellow brokers to gain relatable and applicable insight into the industry around them. The engagement with this email has gained hundreds of subscribers and expands the Northmarq’s client base.
Diversifying his reach, Daniel's investment into social media platforms to disseminate and discuss major trends in commercial real estate has recently swelled into over 20,000 connections across LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram. He runs all of his own accounts, and his engagement allows him to make personal connections with those previously unreached within the industry, including international investors and professionals.
Daniel holds a B.S. in accounting from Oklahoma State University and is a 20+ year member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
