Northmarq adds Tom Peloquin as co-managing director of Raleigh Debt & Equity team

RALEIGH, N.C. (May 15, 2023) – Northmarq announced that it has hired industry veteran and agency expert Tom Peloquin as co-managing director in the Raleigh office. In his new role, Peloquin will focus on expanding agency lending and multifamily debt origination in the Carolinas and report to Jeff Erxleben, president of Debt & Equity. He will be co-managing director with David Vinson, who was promoted to managing director earlier this year.

“We are thrilled to welcome Tom to our team,” Erxleben said. “His experience with complex debt origination assignments and understanding of agency lending nuances will be considerable assets to our clients and integral to the growth of our platform.”

Peloquin joins Northmarq with more than 15 years of capital markets experience, most recently as executive director with PGIM Real Estate in New York City – where he was responsible for the direct origination of multifamily debt on behalf of Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, FHA, life company portfolio and other capital sources. Before that, he served as an agency originator with KeyBank Real Estate Capital.

“I’m excited to join Northmarq and the Raleigh team,” Peloquin said. “I’m looking forward to working with David and the Carolinas team to deliver accretive financing solutions for our institutional and middle market clients and grow our market share in the region.”

Throughout his career, he has been involved in sourcing, structuring and closing over $5 billion in construction, bridge and permanent loan transactions. He is an expert at navigating complex financing involving subordinate debt, various tax exemptions and abatements programs, tax credits, bonds, fractured co-ops, and regulatory agreements.

Peloquin received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and a master’s in real estate from Georgetown University.
