Northmarq welcomes Ryan Norwood as director of business development for Northmarq Fund Management

PORTLAND, Ore. (Sept. 4, 2024) — Northmarq announces the addition of Ryan Norwood as director of business development for Northmarq Fund Management.

Norwood is responsible for managing the firm’s outreach and engagement with potential investors who would benefit from investment allocations to Northmarq funds. He previously spent 10 years as a senior member of the investment team with Morrison Street Capital, which merged with Northmarq earlier this year. Upon joining Northmarq, the 22-year-old investment management company known as Morrison Street Capital was renamed Northmarq Fund Management.

“I am beyond excited to rejoin the talented team at Northmarq Fund Management,” Norwood said. “It is an extremely exciting time for the firm as we partner with the national platform at Northmarq to grow and expand the funds.”

Norwood will work out of the Northmarq Fund Management office in Lake Oswego, Oregon (Portland).

“We are thrilled to have Ryan rejoin our team. Ryan originally joined our Portland office in 2010, later opening our New York office in 2014, and played a key role in developing a broad network of lender and sponsor relationships on behalf of the Morrison Street Funds,” Northmarq Fund Management President & CEO Rance Gregory said. “His experience and perspective on all aspects of our business make him the ideal person to communicate the Funds’ investment strategies.”

Prior to joining Northmarq Fund Management, Ryan worked as a managing director at Lument, a national agency lender and investment firm. In that role, he led the investment strategy in preferred equity and mezzanine loans and managed the firm’s third-party correspondent lending relationships.

Norwood served as an officer in the United States Army from 2002 to 2006, where he led a Scout Platoon on over 300 combat missions during Operation Iraqi Freedom II. He was honorably discharged as a Ranger Qualified Captain.

He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. He is a CFA charterholder and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts as well as the CFA Society of Portland. He lives in Bend, Ore., with his wife and three children.
