Mike Lowry
Mike Lowry serves as senior vice president in Northmarq's Richmond regional office. He focuses on providing real estate capital through permanent, acquisition/development and construction loans; investment sales and acquisition; and consulting on behalf of various institutional and private clients.
Mike has been involved in the commercial real estate industry for 45 years. He began his investment real estate banking career as vice president of First Union Mortgage Corporation (FUMC), predecessor to Wells Fargo, for nine years beginning in 1986. At FUMC, Mike managed the Richmond, VA production office, originated permanent/construction financing and initiated FUMC’s entry into investment property sales, with personal production of $345+ million.
Following a brief stint at Highwoods Properties and brokering $55+ millions of office properties and the remaining land in Innsbrook Corporate Center, Mike returned in 1996 to Harrison & Bates (Colliers International), a leading commercial real estate firm in Richmond. He was involved with corporate management, marketing and technology, in addition to heading investment sales. He was a principal and a member of the executive committee and the board of directors. In 2007, Mike started his own firm where he provided sales and consulting services to a variety of clients. Mike is also a licensed real estate broker in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Mike is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) with a B.S. in business administration and minors in real estate and finance. Additionally, he has been an adjunct professor at VCU and is the President-Elect of the VCU Real Estate Circle of Excellence. He’s also past Chairman of the VCU Real Estate Trends Conference in 2016.
