Patrick Risk
Patrick Risk is an associate in Northmarq's Salt Lake City office where he leads land efforts for the Intermountain West team, covering Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. As land and other resources grow more scarce, Patrick meets with city and government leaders across the state to discuss strategies for addressing housing needs. With access to a vast data and knowledge base, the team has developed an unparalleled ability to help builders bring to market quality developments that maximize revenue potential.
With more than 10 years of experience overseeing facilities planning for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Utah area — over 3,000 properties, with billions in real estate value — Patrick developed unmatched expertise in working with government, city and community leaders to maximize real estate value. Additionally, his five years of management consulting experience — lean six sigma and project management certifications — resulted in over $5 billion in value created through reduced costs and expanded revenue.
In his free time, Patrick unwinds each day by closely following development-related news across Utah, writing for and managing his Facebook communities (he published a book, 'One Day at a Time'), serving on the Board of Directors for several nonprofit organizations and traveling worldwide to seek out and serve those in need as a certified chaplain.
Patrick received his undergraduate degree in business management from the University of Northern Colorado. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Utah. He also holds certificates as a Project Management Professional and Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt.
