Stuart Oswald
Stuart Oswald is a managing director at Northmarq where he oversees the Seattle regional office, building upon nearly 30 years of financing experience. He has been arranging loans primarily for Northwest-area clients since 1996, closing more than $3 billion of total loan volume across all property types, including voer $1 billion in senior housing. Before joining Northmarq in 2009, Stuart was with GMAC/Capmark (now Berkadia) for 15 years. Early in his career, he specialized in manufactured housing, senior housing and retail. Since moving to Northmarq, he has primarily focused on senior housing and market-rate and affordable multifamily properties.
Stuart maintains consistent annual production with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, HUD, correspondent insurance companies and regional banks. Stuart graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in economics. His professional affiliations include the ICSC, NIC, ASHA, NHMC and ULI. He volunteers time and has held leadership positions in the following organizations — The Salvation Army, Boy Scouts of America (he is an Eagle Scout and former troop committee chair in his sons’ troop) and Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity.
Stuart’s interests outside of work include his family (wife and three children), coaching, tennis, surfing, skiing, fishing, travel and his faith.
Prior to beginning his career in real estate finance, Stuart spent several years in the seafood industry first as a deck hand in Alaska on a purse seiner and several crab boats, and later as a seafood broker in Seattle.
