Northmarq welcomes Josh Galen and Sean Swift to growing Los Angeles Debt + Equity team
LOS ANGELES (Aug. 5, 2024) — Northmarq is pleased to announce the expansion of its Southern California Debt + Equity team by welcoming Senior Vice Presidents Josh Galen and Sean Swift, who will source debt and equity across various asset classes and help expand our client offerings in this market.

Galen and Swift will utilize their extensive experience in the principal and institutional equity space to serve both institutional and middle-market firms throughout the U.S. Prior to joining Northmarq, they served as principals for a private multifamily investment company focused on the acquisition of value-add and core-plus assets.

Galen and Swift will report to Zalmi Klyne, senior vice president and managing director of Northmarq’s Los Angeles office. Galen will join Klyne in Los Angeles, while Swift will be based out of the company’s Westlake Village, Calif., office.

In addition to his experience leading acquisitions, Galen has served as an investment associate at Pacific Urban Investors and an analyst at Argentic Investment Management. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in public policy, planning and development, with a focus in real estate development. He also has a master’s degree in finance with a focus in real estate finance from the university.
Swift spent 13 years developing investment strategies and has held positions at CBRE, Boston Consulting Group, MMC Real Estate and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. He is an active member of the Berkeley Real Estate Alumni Association (BREAA), where he previously served as vice president. Swift holds a bachelor’s degree from CSU Channel Islands and an MBA and Interdisciplinary Graduate Certificate in real estate from the Haas School of Business at University of California Berkeley.
