About Charles
Charles is senior vice president at Northmarq's Long Island based office and is responsible for providing financing, debt and equity services through institutional providers of capital, including insurance companies, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, Wall Street and local, regional and national banks for many of Long Island’s notable commercial properties. Charles was recognized recently as one of the Company’s top producers nationally, earning “Producer’s Counsel” honors.
Prior to joining Northmarq, Charles was a senior underwriting analyst at Freddie Mac’s New York City office responsible for multifamily loan origination and underwriting from New York to Maine. Before joining Freddie Mac, Charles worked for Harold D. Baker & Company Inc., a commercial mortgage broker for nearly 10-years where he was responsible for originating and placing mortgage debt primarily in New Jersey. After working on the floor of the American Stock Exchange, Charles joined a New Jersey based developer in Convent Station as an onsite representative where he successfully managed the conversion of a mansion to high-end office space.
Charles is a former chairman of the Young Mortgage Bankers Association and was first-team “All-League” center on Cornell University’s Sprint football team. Recently, Charles, aka “Minotaur”, from 2007-2009, raised the most money as an individual boxer, boxing for Long Island’s “Fight For Charity” fundraiser. He captained NYAC’s second-squad division I rugby team from 1989-1991. He enjoys fishing throughout the northeast year-round and is well known for his great sense of humor and horticultural expertise. Charles is an active member of the Bellmore Lions.
