Jason Smith
Jason Smith is co-managing director of Northmarq's Washington, D.C. office. Jason specializes in arranging debt and equity financing for private family and institutional property owners, developers and investors. Jason's expertise extends to all asset classes including office, multifamily, industrial, retail, hospitality and self-storage properties. His clients include some of the largest property owners in the greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Jason joined the Washington, D.C. office of Northmarq in 2003. Before Northmarq, he was employed with the Pension Fund Advisory Group of Legg Mason Real Estate Services. Earlier in his career, Jason worked with the Investment Sales Group of Cushman & Wakefield in Washington, D.C. and the Valuation Services Group of CBRE in Philadelphia. He has over 18 years of experience in the commercial real estate finance industry.
In 2006, Jason received his Master of Science degree in real estate from Johns Hopkins University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1998 from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Jason is a licensed salesperson in the District of Columbia and an active member of numerous real estate organizations including the Urban Land Institute, DC Real Estate Group and Johns Hopkins University Real Estate Forum. He has been a guest lecturer on numerous occasions at the Colvin Institute of Real Estate Development at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Jason is a native Washingtonian and currently resides in Montgomery County, Maryland with his wife and two sons.
