About Matthew

Matt Weinstein is a senior associate on Northmarq’s Carolinas Multifamily Investment Sales private client team based in Charlotte. His primary responsibilities include cultivating new relationships with owners of multifamily properties in the Carolinas, enhancing existing client relationships and servicing actively-marketed multifamily properties throughout the region. Matt focuses on middle market private capital clients with an emphasis on older vintage value-add properties up to $40 million. In addition to his extensive client relationships, Matt brings a wealth of underwriting experience to the team and is an intricate part in all property valuations and offering memorandums created by the team. 

Prior to joining Northmarq, Matt worked at Capstone Companies based in their Charlotte office and was part of their multifamily investment sales team focused on North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. At Capstone, Matt was focused on middle market private capital clients with an emphasis on older vintage value-add properties in the Carolinas. Starting in November 2019 as an investment analyst, Matt spent 2.5 years supporting the sales team with underwriting, broker opinion of values (BOVs), offering memorandums and more before transitioning into a broker role in June 2022. 

Before Capstone, Matt worked at Zenetex, LLC as a business financial analyst for a defense contractor based in Washington, D.C. He was responsible for various financial reports, invoices, and overall financial management of projects that Zenetex was contracted to do for the federal government.

Matt graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in finance.
